Today we got to visit an amazing waterfall and go swimming in it!

 I also visited the kindergarden class, the grade 6 class and grade 7 class.

The students are working hard on writing back to those of you who wrote letters and sent pictures!

Wednesday May 21

Today the grade 4 class welcomed me into their room. I shared Div 8 letters with them. They LOVED seeing your photos and reading your letters. They worked hard on writing their letters and enjoyed drawing pictures for you.

Monday May 19

Hello, after a great weekend resting from the work, we were back at work again on Monday. I got to work with the grade 7's and grade 8's and handed out the letters from Div 4! they loved them and especially were impressed with your drawings! The classes at this school are pretty small, so I shared Div 4 letters with both classes.  Here's some of the pictures of them working on them!

What a great weekend we had! On Saturday I went to the beach! On Sunday we went to church and I also got to see two very good friends of mine. It's a great thing to have friends in other parts of the world, because then you always feel at home!

Thursday May 15

Hi Div 8! Today I taught English to both the grade 6 and 7 classes. It was fun! We also helped out an after school club. The kids played dodgeball and played on the playground.

Dear Div 8 and others,
Hello from hot Monte Plata! Today was a normal school day at the Escuela Eva Russell. The older students are taking one exam a day. I spent the morning translating your letters that the students will receive next week. Today I finished div 8 letters and now I am working on Div 4 letters. Your wrote such beautiful letters! I know the students will LOVE them.

Monday, May 12

Hello Div 8 and others who are interested! I have arrived in Monte Plata and today was our first day of joining the school. The students arrived at 8am, they sing the national anthem together while they raise the flag and then go to their classrooms to start the day. Many of the classes from grades 4-8 are studying for the year end exams that are coming up soon. I also got to teach English class for the grade 8 class. We went over basic greetings, colours, numbers and practiced saying our birthdays in English. It was fun! I also got to watch the soccer game during gym class. It is played outside on the multi-purpose court.
